It is like pulling teeth trying to get my boys to eat anything green…. or any veggie for that matter- am I alone? From the moment they started exploring foods, they were picky. This was bizarre for us, because my husband and I are both big foodies! So instead of forcing it, I go with the flow and sneak it in when I can…. practicing that “choosing your battles” motto! I have my fingers (and toes) crossed that they won’t be picky until they are 40! But… you have to sneak in those veggies and vitamins somehow and my “Monster Smoothie” is one way I get the job done!

I love trying to involve the boys in the kitchen when I can so when a Monster Smoothie is on the menu, we take turns throwing in the ingredients! My youngest is still a bit terrified of the Vitamix, but he has no problem trying to steal all the strawberries before we even get to add them 🙂

Monster Green Smoothie
- 1 cup Spinach
- 1/4 cup frozen avocado chunks (costco!)
- 1/2 cup plain fage 5% yogurt
- 2TBS of MCT oil
- strawberries
- 1 whole frozen banana
- blueberries
- 1/4 TBS Chia Seed
- 1/4 TBS Flax Seed
- 1 Cup of Almond Milk
- Ice (if you are not using frozen fruits and veggies)
- Blend and enjoy!

Of course, you can substitute with any of the fruits, but I’ve found that spinach has little to no taste and they don’t even notice. Both of my boys are very lean, so I also like to sneak in a lot of healthy fats.
What is your favorite way to sneak in veggies with the kids?
I hope you’ll try our Monster Smoothie and share your variations too! It takes a village! Cheers!
